Syllabus
This course includes integration of Language Arts and Science themes with the technology curriculum. Both the academic emphasis and the focus on higher level thinking skills are the heart of this class. This course supports literacy development including reading and writing skills. The Digitools text will be used to help students understand the particular text features: headings, layout, graphic elements, etc… of the book as part of the literacy support. These technology skills will be applied to projects assigned in conjunction with the English and Science themes.
Course Description: This is a one-year course incorporating the study of a variety of literacy and informal texts emphasizing literacy and advanced reading, communication and essential skills for clear and effective writing. Specific skills covered in this course includes: multimedia presentation, publishing, data manipulation, Internet research and graphic design using Microsoft Office, Publisher, and MX Studio software.
