Pacific Northwest Model United Nations conference audience and panel in Seattle

“Along with fifteen other high school secretariats, I planned and organized the Pacific Northwest Model United Nations conference. Whether it was speaking to the hotel event manager about meeting room issues or setting up rooms for the next committee session, my job was to fix loose pieces during the conference. I also had the task of moderating the opening and closing ceremonies. I have never presented in front of 800 people before; I was filled with both exhilaration and trepidation. At the end of the conference, I was exhausted after running around in heels in Downtown Seattle, staying up past three in the morning to complete curfew checks, and adapting schedules to the fast-pace of the conference. In the end, the conference was a success and I believe it was well worth the nine months of planning.”
