Families,

Over the last three Fridays, our school has focused on teaching our school community about the Hate & Bias Protocol that Dr. Snell shared with families a few weeks ago. To view his message, click here. As a school community, we are working hard on ensuring all students feel safe and respected at Columbia River High School. If you are interested in reviewing the lessons that have been shared with students over the last three weeks, please see these slides. Note that if students choose to participate in forms of discrimination or hate speech, there is a specific disciplinary process that will be followed, which was laid out in Dr. Snell’s email.

We are placing an emphasis on students focusing on noticing and creating a positive Rapid Ripple Effect at CR. This may be as simple as offering a smile to someone you pass in the hallway, or interrupting inappropriate language that may harm others. All students are encouraged to report any incidents of hate or bias to a staff member so that we can take additional steps to resolve the issue.

We appreciate your partnership in creating and maintaining a positive school community!
