Dear Columbia River Community,
We are excited to reintroduce our “Rapid Response” intervention period, a dedicated time for targeted academic support and enrichment, held every Monday. This initiative has been successfully implemented at Columbia River for many years, providing our students with valuable opportunities to enhance their learning experience.
Our special Monday schedule includes a unique system of “call slips” that allows teachers to summon students for personalized meetings. During these sessions, students can receive additional support in specific subject areas, engage in small group tutoring, or participate in enrichment activities. This approach aligns with best practices for academic intervention, ensuring that our students receive the timely and adaptable support they need.
For our veteran students, this serves as a refresher on how to effectively utilize “Rapid Response” to meet their academic goals. For our new students, it’s an introduction to a well-established system that has consistently promoted student success at Columbia River.
We encourage all students to actively participate in the “Rapid Response” period, taking advantage of the support available to enhance their educational journey. By working together, we can continue to foster an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Take a look at the gallery of images our Instructional Faculty created as guidance for our students. The images are the results of the guiding question defining our outcomes through the Frayer Model.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to educational excellence at Columbia River. We look forward to connecting with you at Fall Conferences next week.
Sincerely,
Alex Otoupal,
Principal/ Head of School
