Next week, on March 19 and 20, Columbia River students will begin participating in the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), the required Washington state assessment, and a graduation requirement. We will be on a special schedule for SBA testing days (2 Hour Testing Schedule). Students who are testing will need to bring their fully charged iPads for the tests – headphones/earbuds are also recommended. It is critical that students are at school for these days in order to minimize disruption to classes.
School buses will run at the regular times. If students ride the bus to school but aren’t involved in testing, they will need to stay on campus and report to a study hall area. Selected IB teachers will be offering extended IB opportunities during this time, PE teachers will also be inviting students to a PE makeup opportunity. If students are not testing and do not ride the bus, they may wait to arrive until 9:25 am. Classes will begin at 9:30.
Testing locations and a list of students who need to test will be posted in the main hallway.
